Hola mi familia!
It's been an incredible journey so far here in Costa Rica! Today we all went to see a volcano named Volcan Poas. Most of the time it is covered in fog, which the disciples here have usually experienced. God blessed us today by clearing the fog, allowing us all to connect with his creation! As I stared into its beauty I was impacted by how powerful God is and how blessed I am to be able to have a relationship with Him and be loved by the creator of the universe.
After visiting the volcano and lagoon, we went to a sister's house for lunch. Maru opened up her home to us and fed us A LOT of food. She then shared that she wanted to do this for us to take part in the dreams that she had for the church here and the campus ministry and that God using us is allowing her dreams to come true. Needless to say we all felt that in our hearts.
The disciples here have taken care of us so well it's inspiring. The US does not have a family based culture, that many countries around the world have. I wanted to learn how to love my family and friends more by looking at the lives of disciples here in Costa Rica. God has given me insight, as the disciples here love and serve each other so deeply, that it looks like they are one big family. Everyone takes care of everyone, being an example of the scripture in Acts 2:44-47. We have been given so much more than we deserve. Being able to see a new aspect of Jesus' love through the love of the disciples here has left an impact on all of our hearts. I know that we will take this back to the US to be able to love people on a deeper level, making everyone feel welcomed and that they are part of a family. It is a blessing to be here and I still can't believe it's been only one week! God is just getting started!
With Love,
Skye
